He died in the early 18th century and he was buried on a ridge just outside of modern Lineboro. He was buried with the treasures he had accumulated during his life. His tribe gave him a big ceremony. The tribe's shaman wanted to ensure the chief safe passage to the spirit world and so placed a curse on the burial site to keep outsiders away. The curse was used to protect the chief's treasure and his burial site. The curse would bring the wrath of the spirit world to whomsoever disturbed the chief's resting place.
